Mule Deer
Alberta has been a "secret spot" among die hard mule deer hunters over the past decade. With most hunters heading to the Western U.S. in search of the elusive "Muley", Alberta mule deer hunters have been harvesting some of the largest mule deer on the continent with many animals pushing the 300 pound mark and scoring 170-200 Boone and Crockett inches!
Our mule deer are hunted in the Mountainous areas or our 950 sq. mile hunting area during the month of October. Big bucks are traditionally in bachelor groups and are easily patterned as they move from bedding to feeding areas. Spot and stalk hunting is the method of choice although stand hunting is sometimes utilized over natural mineral licks and travel corridors.
Weather in October in the mountains is typically gorgeous with daytime temps in the mid 60's with evening temps dipping to the freezing mark. It is a beautiful time of year to be in the Rocky Mountains of Alberta!
Our 6 day Mule deer hunts are typically done from a remote tent camp with heated guest and dining canvas wall tents. Deluxe accommodations are available for a small additional fee if you so choose. Transportation to the hunting area is done via 4x4 truck, horse or ATV, based upon hunter preference and camp location. All mule deer hunts include 3 meals per day, guide fees, transportation, license, tags, animal prep, and airport pickup/drop. Ask about adding a whitetail tag to your mule deer hunt for that awesome "Alberta double".
Book early as we normally only take 10 mule deer hunters per season in our 950 sq. mile hunting area! |
